 After a breif break due to a strong northwest blow, Lake Ontario Fishing for king salmon got turned up a notch from good to excellent.Prior to the blow, we were catching kings offshore in 500 to 700 feet of water some 9 miles away from port. That has all changed. The kings have been coming over the stern in good numbers and size in water as deep as 300 ft.
Several of our groups have landed limit or near limit catches of kings with several big guys over twenty pounds. The next couple of weeks should produce exceptional king salmon fishing action as the urge to spawn draws closer and the fish begin to stage off of the river mouths.
