Attomik challenge 2013 in the books

This years Atomik challenge was once again good for Ace Charters and it’s guest team Fish Nutz. Team Fish Nutz original members Paul Powers and Dan Jackson fished aboard Ace Charters this past weekend under their original team name. They will be fishing all three legs of the Lake Ontario Triple Crown composed of the Atomik Challenge, Fairhaven Challenge, and the Little Salmon River Challenge held each year during the summer on the eastern end of Lake Ontario.

These events are a low entry fee event that draws in excess of over 60/70 boats for each leg. They are a fun event and smaller boats are welcome to attend and participate. These are six fish limit events that even the playing field a bit for all size boats. They are popular for sure.

Team Fish Nutz got the job done finishing third out of 62 boats when it was all said and done. They also finished second in the Calcutta. We manage to boat six fish with two of them being good size king salmon. The top fish in our box weighed 24lbs. The fishing was difficult as evidenced by the majority of boats that came in with empty or partial boxes.

Fish Nutz is entered in the Triple Crown and will be fishing the other two events as well. Note that the Ace Charters pro team includes Dan and Paul for the major events like the Lake Ontario Pro-Am series which we fared very well this year. Ace Charters has client commitments for the rest of the season and will not be able to fish with the team for the triple crown. We will however, be entered into the individual events if the charter clients so desire.
