fishing is about to start

The weather is about to break, fishing is about to start, and I can hardly wait to make the journey to Lake Ontario to do some pre-season fishing with my friends. If all goes well we should be out on Lake Ontario chasing brown trout and king salmon by next weekend. Reports from the Oswego river via Kevin Davis from Catch the Drift Guide Service indicate that there will be a lot of fish in the area to chase after.

As most of you know I start the first part of spring running charters on the Hudson River for striped bass before I move my boat up onto Lake Ontario for the rest of the season. This year it looks like my striper charters will finish up somewhere near the 25th of May. The “Ace”my charter boat should arrive in the Lake Ontario Oswego,NY area in early June.

Our Lake Ontario fishing schedule will begin in Niagra as we again will participate in the Lake Ontario Pro-Am series starting the first weekend in June. We are planning on running a few charters while we are there out of the port of Wilson.NY. From Wilson, we will be moving a little further east to Oak Orchard to fish the second leg of the Lake Ontario Pro-Am which is being hosted there. As some of you may remember we will be defending our title there from last year.

The third week of June will find us in Toronto,Canada fishing for the first time in the coveted Tite Lines Shootout. We are very exited to be competing for the “Big Money” against a field comprised of some of the very best Lake Ontario fisherman from both  USA and Canadian soil. If this year is anything like last year, it should make for some very exiting as well as great fishing for Lake Ontario king and coho salmon. This is a one day, six rod limit, salmon only  tournament.

After Toronto we will be moving the “Ace” back home to Oswego,NY to run our charters where we anticipate fishing  through the middle to end of September. We have been informed that we will have the same dock location as last year conveniently located right across from the fish cleaning station at the Oswego Marina. Our phone has begun to ring quite a bit from Lake Ontario anglers looking to book fishing charters for this upcoming year. we are very excited. Com’on Spring!!
