Lake Ontario Fishing Reports 2014

Lake Ontario Fishing Reports 2014

9/22/14    Our season as come to an end and what a busy season it has been. We had several new clients this year with folks coming from as far away as the UK and the Dominican Republic. Looking back over the season, we were fortunate enough to not have a skunk the entire season. But, please don’t be misled. We did encounter several very challenging days in which we had to either work for our bites or have the misfortune to lose fish after a lengthy battle at the back of the boat.

To those of you haven’t noticed there has been a lack of reports since June. Given our busy schedule and lack of internet access via my main computer, it has been nearly impossible for me to get the time to write and upload these reports. What we have been able to do, however is to upload daily fishing reports and pics via smart phone to Twitter and Facebook. You can click on Twitter or Facebook to take you to the reports and pics from this past season.

6/22/14    Cathy St. Croix called and booked a fishing trip with us as a birthday present for their grandson Bradon. He was joined by his father Justin as well as his grandfather Duncan. Our trip started out like a house on fire with a dipsey and a downrigger taking off at the same time. Bradon did an excellent job of landing his rigger bite which was a nice two year old king. Bradon’s dad also landed his fish as well another two year old king on a diver shot. We managed to boat several fish that morning including a few lake trout and skippy kings.

6/21/14    After a lengthy three weeks of tournament fishing we were finally able to return to our home port of Oswego and begin our charter fishing season. Kim and Bill Lawson came all the way up from Philly to sample our trout and salmon fishing on Lake Ontario. The first fish to bite an Attomik fly off of a dipsy was handed over to Kim to do battle and battle she did. Kim successfully landed what turned out to be a 24lb behemoth King Salmon while her husband Bill battled a second king that struck a spoon on the downrigger. All in all we had 9 bites that morning and kept three kings and a lake trout while releasing several juvenile kings. You can check out their salmon fishing photos in our Lake Ontario Photo gallery.

6/17/14   Matt Moore and family joined us today trolling for trout and salmon out of Oswego, NY and did quite well given the extremely calm conditions. The steelhead and Lake trout cooperated bending a few rods for us on this day. Spoons were the lures of choice of the boards.
